Shannon P. Francis, APRN, FNP-C, (American Academy of Nurse Practitioners) is an advanced practice registered nurse and a certified family nurse practitioner. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She began her career as a day surgery registered nurse in Texas for eight years. She moved home to Bossier City and transitioned to Willis-Knighton as an operating room nurse in 2004 where she became head nurse for eight years.
Francis’ clinical interests led her to urology nursing at Willis-Knighton for five years beginning in 2012. During that time, Francis continued her education and graduated with a master’s degree in nursing from University of Cincinnati, followed by certification as a family nurse practitioner. Francis then pursued other clinical interests as an orthopedic nurse for five years. She now returns to Willis-Knighton as nurse practitioner at Ark-La-Tex Urology. Francis’ care philosophy is to treat every patient as if they are a member of her own family.
In her personal time, Francis enjoys working in her yard, planting flowers, traveling the country, working out on her treadmill, and hanging out with her family and friends. Her husband also works at Willis-Knighton and they have five children.
