Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:I chose a career in medicine because it allows me to have a positive impact in the lives of my patients. I have always been interested in science and medicine, even at a young age. I studied biology in college, then worked for the Jesuit Volunteer Corps doing hospice work prior to PA school. I also have family members working in medicine, which played a role in my interest as well. The ability to help someone in need and to play even a small role in their healing process is a tremendous reward that is difficult to quantify. What I want my patients to know about me:I am a hard-working, focused and driven Physician Assistant with over 17 years of experience primarily in Orthopedics, and specifically the hip and knee sub-specialty. I combine my years of experience and knowledge base with the latest evidence-based research and literature to best serve my patients. I am compassionate and am dedicated to helping my patients maintain or return to their highest quality of life possible. I counsel patients on both surgical and non-surgical treatment options for their hip or knee pain. What I do when I'm not seeing patients:When I am not working, I am with my family, who remain my motivation and my rock. I am active in my local Catholic church and I love all outdoor activities. I enjoy coaching my kids sports, as well as getting out on the trail, biking or hiking. I also really enjoy swimming, having grown up in a small lake community in western PA.
