Dr. Pham believes that research constitutes an essential component to improving children’s surgical care. He received his medical degree from the University of California, Irvine, School of Medicine and went on to complete an internship and residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., as well as a Pediatric Surgery Fellowship at BC Children's Hospital, Vancouver, British Columbia. Dr. Pham also holds a doctorate degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, Irvine. He is conducting clinical and translational research projects that bring innovations to patient’s bedside.
In addition to being an advocate for using the most minimally invasive surgical procedure that will give his patients the most successful outcome, Dr. Pham also performs pediatric thoracic, neonatal and pediatric oncology surgeries as well as correcting congenital malformations. He received numerous research awards during his PhD and postdoctoral training including a National Institute of Health Medicinal Scientist Training Fellowship, Whitaker Biomedical Engineering Fellowship and the Fulbright Scholarship. His research has gained him recognition with Children and Family Research Fellow Awards from BC Children's Hospital in Vancouver, British Columbia.
