Brief Intro

Dr. Whitaker received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia in 1979 and his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta in 1983. He completed both his internship (1984) and his residency in orthopedic surgery (1988) at Indiana University and affiliated hospitals in Indianapolis. In 1989, he completed a one year fellowship in hand surgery and microsurgery at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Special interests include shoulder, elbow and hand injuries. Dr. Whitaker is a member of the Indiana State Medical Association, Indianapolis Medical Society, Indiana Orthopaedic Society, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the American Society for Surgery of the Hand. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and has a Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand Surgery.
