Brief Intro

Dr. Eric Monesmith specializes in the treatment of arthritic knees and hips. A graduate of Indiana University School of Medicine, Dr. Monesmith completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Loyola University Medical Center. After completing his residency, he pursued advanced training in total joint replacement and cartilage transplantation, completing the prestigious Aufranc Fellowship in constructive joint surgery at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. He was awarded the Schwartz Traveling Fellowship and studied cartilage transplantation in Gothenberg, Sweden and hip replacement in Exeter, England. Dr. Monesmith enjoys particpating in orthopedic research to advance patient care. He is currently involved in multiple areas of research relating to hip and knee replacement, including pain management for joint replacement, developing new operational delivery systems for joint replacement and clinical studies of existing joint implants. Dr. Monesmith is the past president of the Indiana Orthopaedic Society. He is a former board of councilors representative for Indiana to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a former member of the board of directors for OrthoIndy. He currently sits on the finance committee of OrthoIndy. He is a member of the Indiana State Medical Association and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.
