Brief Intro

Bryce Cunningham, MD, is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic trauma surgeon specializing in the care of complex fractures and bone fracture-related problems. He spent five years of orthopaedic surgical residency in Chattanooga at Erlanger Hospital with the physicians of the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. During this time, he developed skills in joint replacement, joint arthroscopy, and care for common orthopaedic problems. He spent an additional year of subspecialty training in orthopaedic trauma and reconstructive surgery at the University of Texas in Houston at the nation’s busiest level I trauma center, Memorial Hermann Hospital. While in Houston, he provided care for complex fractures of the pelvis, hip socket, and extremities. He also spent four months learning the application of small wire (Ilizarov) external fixation for the treatment of complex bone deformities, infections, and traumatic bone defects. He returned to Erlanger in September 2017 to join three adult orthopaedic trauma surgery partners at the region’s only level I trauma center. He is actively involved in the education of orthopaedic surgical residents and fellows and enjoys educating area Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers. His goals are to assist area orthopaedic surgeons and emergency physicians to provide compassionate care to adult and pediatric orthopaedic patients in the region. Outside of the hospital, he is an avid bass fisherman and golfer, and enjoys all the outdoor activities that the Chattanooga area has to offer.
