Dr. Abdelwahb Akef was born in Egypt, where he received his Doctorate of Medicine. He emigrated to the U.S. to complete his internship and residency, and completed his cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowship at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics-Madison. He has been with Metropolitan Heart and Vascular Institute since 2002, and his professional interests include interventional cardiology and peripheral vascular disease.
