He then pursued combined training in Internal Medicine-Pediatrics, followed by an Adult Infectious Disease fellowship, all at Scott & White Healthcare. He returned to Baylor Scott & White Health in 2008, and since 2013, he has served as the Director of Infectious Disease Division. He has conducted research in HIV, influenza, Clostridium difficile colitis, COVID-19, and antifungal agents. He is interested in preventative aspects of infectious disease and population health. He enjoys teaching, time with his family, and travel. He considers, Temple "home" at this point since he has been here since 1999 (except for time in Malawi) and is becoming a huge (TISD) Temple High Wildcat fan!
