William Rawlinson, MD joined the Central Texas Chest Clinic in January 2004. After graduating from the University of Utah School of Medicine in 1981 he completed an Internal Medicine Residency (1984) and Pulmonary Diseases Fellowship (1986) at Wilford Hall United States Air Force Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. He was stationed at Andrews Air Force Base, in Washington DC for four years then established his private practice in Newark, Ohio.
His professional accomplishments include board certification in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and in Sleep Medicine by the American Board of Sleep Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians. In Ohio he served as the medical director of the intensive care unit, as medical director of the sleep laboratory and as the secretary treasurer of the medical staff of Licking Memorial Hospital. He has eagerly returned to central Texas to enjoy the Texas life style and to be closer to his family.
His clinical interests include all aspects of lung disease with special emphasis on asthma, COPD and emphysema. He is especially interested in sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, narcolepsy and restless leg syndrome.
