Dr. Wood received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine and went on to complete a five-year otolaryngology residency training at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology, he is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery Foundation, the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy, the American College of Surgeons, Physicians for a National Health Program, and Physicians for Human Rights. An author of several publications based on his research in the field of otolaryngology, Dr. Wood has also been the recipient of several awards, including the Distinguished Medical Scholar award at UNC, the Tinker Graduate Research Travel Award, and the Foreign Language Areas Studies Fellowship.
