Dr. William Boothe is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist. He received his ophthalmology specialty training at Texas Tech University School of Ophthalmology. Dr. Boothe completed a corneal fellowship at Jules Stein Eye Institute (University of California Los Angeles Medical School). In 1999, he was elected by VISX, one of the leading laser eye technology companies, as 'Surgeon of the year'. In fact, there are no other surgeons in the world who have done more VISX Wavefront Customized laser vision correction procedures than Dr. William Boothe. After Dr. Boothe graduated and finished his fellowship, he was an emergency room physician. Later, he became director of both the Plano Emergency Center and the Angelo Association Emergency Center in San Angelo, Texas. Dr. William Boothe then decided to dedicate himself completely to ophthalmology and in 1987, he started his own Boothe Eye Care & Laser Center in Plano. From the very beginning, his main goal was to offer patients the best-quality, most effective methods and techniques for enhancing their eyesight. In the beginning of 1990s, Dr. Boothe started doing Lasik eye surgery, an outstanding and innovative technique in the field of ophthalmology. He was the first cornea surgeon in Dallas to use FDA-approved laser. Since then, Dr. William Boothe performed over 119,800 Lasik surgeries and over 71,900 IntraLasik procedures done by himself. Dr. Boothe offers the latest technologies to customize the choices in vision correction procedures for the individual needs of his patients, including a bladeless Lasik called IntraLase. All the newest equipment is thoroughly researched and inspected by Dr. William Boothe to guarantee the highest rate of gaining 20/20 or better eyesight for his patients. Since he only uses the latest state-of-the-art technologies, Dr. Boothe sets and provides his patients with the highest accuracy, precision and safety standards. Dr. William Boothe is a member of the American Medical Association, the International Society of Refractive Surgery, the Texas Medical Foundation, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Dallas Academy of Ophthalmology, and a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has taught his own laser vision correction techniques to ophthalmologists all over the world. Dr. Boothe is the medical director and chief surgeon of the Boothe Eye Care & Laser Center. Patients may have a number of medically approved vision correction procedures, including PRK, Lasik, and IntraLasik.
