Dr. Walter Wong joined the staff of physicians at Radiation Oncology Associates in 1987 and cares for patients at the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic, Aurora Medical Center. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, he attended medical school in his hometown at Wayne State University. After earning his degree, he completed his internship and a residency at the William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan where he was honored as Chief Resident for the Department of Radiation Therapy. He served as Medical Director of the Joseph F. Andrea Cancer Center at St. Catherine's Hospital. While there, he chaired the Cancer Committee and was Moderator of the Tumor Board. He also held a Cancer Liaison position with the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Wong has been the Medical Director of the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center since 2001. He also serves as the Chairman of the Cancer Committee. Dr. Wong participates in clinical tumor boards and breast conferences in Burlington and Lakeland Medical. With Dr. Wong's participation and dedication to these facilities, they have all achieved the Commission of Cancer Certificate of Accreditation with Commendation. Since 1987, he has practiced in the state of Wisconsin and has professional society memberships in the American Medical Association, the American College of Radiology, the American Society of Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology, as well as several state and county medical societies in southeastern Wisconsin. He and his wife Janet are parents of two sons. Dr Wong states, "I respond to my patients with compassionate understanding as well as with meticulous attention to all of the particulars of the cancer they are facing."
