Dr. Newman is a graduate of the University of North Dakota Medical School. She completed her residency with the University of Minnesota in 2010 and holds a Masters Degree in Public Health from the University of Minnesota. A former high school biology teacher, Dr. Newman has a passion for child health and nutrition in particular the importance of breast feeding. She tirelessly dedicates herself to advocating for improved child public policy and human rights and providing a voice for children in the state legislature. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, AAP Breastfeeding Interest Chapter and Physicians for Human Rights. Dr. Newman resides in Minneapolis with her husband and two children.
