Dr Rogge completed medical school at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, internal medicine internship at University of Washington Hospitals, and psychiatry residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He is certified as a specialist by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He has served as assistant professor on the clinical faculties in psychiatry at Johns Hopkins University and University of Washington. As a senior outside reviewer for Milliman and Robertson, he helped develop their best practice guidelines, used throughout the United States by hospitals, clinics, and insurance companies. He is a member of American Medical Association and Washington State Medical Association.
From 1977 to 1979 he was medical director for mental health services at Howard County Health Department in Columbia, Maryland. From 1979 to 1982 he was assistant director for student mental health services at Johns Hopkins University. After moving to Seattle in 1982 he was medical director for psychiatric inpatient services at Providence Hospital for eight years. At Fairfax Hospital in Kirkland he was hospital medical director from 1992 to 1999. He developed physician services for inpatient psychiatry at Swedish Providence campus from 1999 to 2002. Since then Dr Rogge has been providing general psychiatric consultation and treatment to adults and adolescents for the Puget Sound region. Areas of expertise include treatment-resistant depression and bipolar disorder as well as depression occurring with chronic pain and addiction. He is certified for buprenorphine detoxification of narcotic dependence.
