My name is Thomas Stringer, MD, and I have been practicing urology for over 40 years. I earned my medical degree at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit and completed my internship and residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine. Afterward, I pursued a fellowship in urologic oncology at Wayne State University School of Medicine. For 30 years, I practiced urology as managing partner and president of Citrus Urology Associates while serving as vice president of Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness, Florida. In 2011, I returned to Gainesville full time as the medical director of the department of urology. I now serve as an associate professor within the department at the UF College of Medicine, where I treat general urology conditions like prostate issues, erectile dysfunction and urinary tract infections. In 2015, I served as interim chairman of the department of urology and now serve as associate chairman. As a physician, I believe it is important to bring the best care to my patients, which involves creating accessibility to the clinic and its providers. I am proud to bring my patients high-level personal care with extensive private practice experience.Outside of medicine, I enjoy playing tennis and golf and planning weekend activities with residents.
