Thomas Vates, M.D., FACS, FAAP is a board certified pediatric urologist w ith more than 25 years of experience in caring for children w ith urological conditions. Dr. Vates is the Chief of Pediatric Urology at K. Hovnanian Children's Hospital, and as such is a leader of the Hackensack Meridian Health children’s care team. He w orks to utilize the latest and most advanced treatment options in urology, and provides each patient w ith a comprehensive evaluation and personalized treatment plan.
Prior to joining Hackensack Meridian Health, Dr. Vates w as the Section Chief of Pediatric Urology at Monmouth Medical Center. He has been recognized as an NJ Top Doctor for eight consecutive years, and as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor for the past ten years. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Section on Urology as w ell as the American College of Surgeons. Additionally, he is committed to education and is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery-Urology at UMDNJRobert Wood Johnson Medical School.
