Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:Both of my parents passed away from debilitating illnesses when I was young, so my older brother helped raise me. He was a physician who graduated from PCOM (also my alma mater). He made house calls and kept his office open late. I always knew I wanted to go into medicine. At first, I was thinking about becoming a veterinarian, but quickly found out that I had a better chance at medical school (due to the ratio of 21 vet schools vs. 211 med schools). Another reason I found medicine interesting was because of my experience with an osteopathic physician when I hurt my back while playing soccer. What I want my patients to know about me:I am the program director for both the WellSpan York Hospital Orthopedic Residency Program and the WellSpan York Hospital Orthopedic Traumatology Fellowship Program. I am responsible for overseeing 16 orthopedic residents in our Residency Program and 1 trauma fellow. We started this program in 2013. This is a well-rounded program. Our residents are exposed to different subspecialties, such as joints, sports, hand, trauma, tumor and spine within their five-year education with us.What I do when I'm not seeing patients:I enjoy traveling and spending time with my wife and four kids. I do enjoy providing medical coverage for ice hockey games. Currently working on my MBA degree at St. Joseph's University.
