Brief Intro

Dr. Steven R. Goodman followed a unique path to medicine. Initially a mechanical engineer, he found that while he enjoyed the technical, problem solving aspect of engineering he missed the human dimension. Driven towards medicine, Dr. Goodman earned his Doctorate of Medicine at the State University of New York, School of Medicine in Buffalo, New York; interned at the UCSF-Mt. Zion Hospital and Medical Center in San Francisco, California; and completed his Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. Dr. Goodman believes medicine is a patient-focused art and looks to understand each patient, their unique challenges and their desired outcome while drawing on the best of science in caring for them. Dr. Goodman has a subspecialty interest in myofascial/soft tissue and musculoskeletal pain and serves as Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Washington. He is committed to timely and appropriate treatment to minimize chronic pain and disability. He is certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the American Board of Electrodiagnostic Medicine. A strong Mariner's baseball fan, he enjoys tennis, fly fishing and traveling with his wife.
