Dr. DeKoster, DDS
Dr. DeKoster graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1966. He attended Gustavus Adolphus College for two years, then was accepted to the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry graduating in 1972. After a 6 month post-doctorate program in pediatric dentistry, he came back to Hutchinson and opened the Hutchinson Dental Center in early 1973 at it’s present location in downtown Hutchinson.
Dr DeKoster has always been very interested in any new technology in the field of dentistry, prompting the upgrading of techniques and equipment many times over the years, the most recent being a large addition and all new equipment in 2000 and additional upgrading in 2004 with the arrival of Dr. Campbell.
In 1998, the then new advent of computer aided design and fabrication of porcelain restorations led him into this new realm with the purchase of one of the first CEREC® CAD/CAM machines in the US. His extensive experience over the last 8 years with this technology has made him one of the foremost experts in this field in the country. Dr. DeKoster is one of the original 12 trainers for the Patterson Dental Company and has trained hundreds of dentists from all over the country in the use of this technology. He continues to be very active with his training courses from beginner to advanced techniques in milled ceramics and cosmetics, which allows him to offer his patients the latest that dentistry has to offer in this exciting field.
