%u2022 Dr. Koenig graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Dartmouth College, with a B.A. degree and honors in Chemistry. Dr. Koenig obtained his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and has been elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. %u2022 Dr. Koenig completed his Internal Medicine residency and Pulmonary and Critical Care fellowship at the University of Chicago Hospitals and Clinics, and his Sleep Medicine training at Deaconess Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri. %u2022 Dr. Koenig is board certified in Sleep Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases, Critical Care Medicine and Internal Medicine, and has recently become certified in Medical Acupuncture. He is a former Professor of Medicine at the University of Virginia in the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, where he received numerous teaching awards including the coveted Attending of the Year Award from medical residents and the Robley Dunglison Award for Outstanding Clinical Teacher and Robert Bennet Bean Award for Outstanding Teacher of the Basic Sciences from medical students. %u2022 Dr. Koenig has been selected one of %u201CAmerica%u2019s Top Doctors%u201D or one of %u201CAmerica%u2019s Top Physicians%u201D since 2001.
