Dr. Hamar joined Mid Dakota Clinic PrimeCare in June 1978. A specialist in General and Vascular Surgery, he is a Fellow in the American College of Surgeons and is board-certified to practice in his specialty. A native of Ellendale, North Dakota, Dr. Hamar received two bachelor of science degrees from the University of North Dakota, the first in zoology and the second, Summa Cum Laude, in medicine. He attended Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, receiving his doctor of medicine degree with honors. He completed his surgical residency also at Baylor College of Medicine. Dr. Hamar is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery for the UND School of Medicine, and is licensed to practice in the states of North Dakota and Texas.
