Dr. Karageanes has been a leader in clinical and academic medicine since 1999. He currently holds several titles:
--Medical Director, St. Mary Mercy Sports Medicine
--Immediate Past-President , American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine
--Assistant Dean, Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences
--Editorial Board, Clinical Journal of Sport Medicine
In addition, he published a textbook (Principles of Manual Sports Medicine), produced a video series for the Osteopathic Clinical Joint Exam, and has authored many other chapters on WebMD, emedicine.com, and the Encyclopedia of Sports Medicine.
Dr. Karageanes believes in advocacy for social causes. He helped write the concussion bill that was signed into law by Governor Snyder in Michigan October 2012.
He is part of the Athletes and the Arts initiative that launched in May 2013 in Indianapolis at the ACMS meeting, and went to Washington DC to lobby Congress for the Youth Sports Safety Alliance in February 2013.
Dr. Karageanes is also a member of the anti-bullying initiative Be A Star Alliance through World Wrestling Entertainment.
