Stephen Siegel, MD graduated from MIT and continued his education at Case Western Reserve University where he earned his M.D. and Masters in Biomedical Engineering in 1983. He is currently an attending physician at Beth Israel. He did his residency in Internal Medicine and Fellowship in Pulmonary Diseases. He received over a quarter of a million dollars in grants to continue asthma research he had begun at MIT, Harvard affiliated hospitals, and Case Western Reserve University. Dr. Siegel is presently devoted to his private practice where the health and well- being of his patients is a priority.
Statements from the Heart: Rescue Workers from 9/11 Find Relief with Treatment
Since the World Trade Center Disaster, Dr. Siegel has helped over 300 rescue workers cope with their breathing difficulties and what has become known as the "WTC Cough" which mirrors the symptoms of asthma and is often accompanied by sinus infections. By utilizing a combination of specialized medical treatment, Dr. Siegel has improved the quality of life for hundreds of people. Several the comments made by members of the FDNY include:
