Dr. Sonya Black, of Swedish and Latvian descent, was raised in Sacramento, California. She attended the distinguished, women's school, Scripps College in Claremont, CA, and earned her Bachelors studying Science. She then pursued her interests in health and medicine at Tulane Universitys School of Medicine, graduating in 2001. Dr. Black completed her Family Medicine Residency through Rose and the University of Colorado and has called Denver home ever since. Upon completion of residency in 2004, she entered a large health care organization, where she spent six years as a family medicine physician. In an effort to spend more time on personal patient care, Dr. Black joined Cherry Creek Family Practice in 2010. Here we enjoy her quick wit and immense wealth of knowledge, as well as her endlessly entertaining mommyhood stories.
