Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare:Medicine has its roots in science, which was my primary interest in school. I appreciated the role of using a scientific basis to improve the health care of the population. I have always been fascinated by how the body works. Medicine is a career driven by services, and as such, you are touched and tasked by putting others first, yet it always allows you to be a life-long learner. It's an occupation where your field of expertise continually expands. What I want my patients to know about me:Patients should expect to be treated respectfully with modern evidence-based medical science. What I do when I'm not seeing patients:When I am on duty, I review patients' medical conditions and study literature if needed for updates. And I also communicate with other physicians. Off duty, I enjoy spending time with my family, reading news and journals, sports and entertainment, and healthy lifestyle activities.
