Dr. Shahram Rezaiamiri, MD, FACS and his family moved to Southern California in 1979 where he attended and graduated from high school. In 1988 he received a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington (UW) in Seattle. Before going back to UW to attend medical school, he worked for GTE Research Labs in Boston and spent a year in Texas in their GTEs telecommunications division. Dr. Rezaiamiri finished medical school in 1994 and then attended the University of Rochester and completed his residency in Neurosurgery at Strong Memorial Hospital. In 1998, he spent one year in Virginia completing a fellowship in Complex Spinal Surgery. He has been in Atlanta since 2001. Dr Rezaiamiri has extensive experience in treating complex spinal disorders. He was the first in the south Atlanta area to perform minimally invasive spinal discectomy and fusion. He also has extensive experience in treating brain tumors. He was the first to introduce the Computer Based Stereotactic Image Guided Surgery in the Atlanta area for the treatment of brain tumors. Dr Rezaiamiri is presently one of the few spine surgeons who perform the new minimally invasive spinal fusion technique, XLIF. Fellow Member of the American Board of Neurosurgery. Dr. Rezaiamiri has privileges at Piedmont Henry, Southern Regional Medical Center, and Piedmont Atlanta.
