Dr. Shannon graduated from the University of Louisiana in Lafayette and earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and his Rheumatology fellowship at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Dr. Shannon is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and joined the staff in July 2005. Dr. Shannon's expertise is in the area of rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus. His special medical interests include systemic sclerosis.
