Brief Intro

TeleMedicine Provider | Open NowDr. Scott Wiener uses a modern approach to mental health. Using a model of wellness means addressing your current issues but from a state of well-being to become all you can be.Psychiatrists are the only doctors who don't look inside the body to assess a problem. Think about it; all other doctors use imaging and labs to look inside a person’s body when making a diagnosis. That coupled with your symptoms is how they determine what the problem is. Unfortunately, doctors dedicated to mental health have learned that how a person feels is their only tool in assessing somebody. Because of this, psychiatrists often have no idea what’s causing the problems their clients are dealing with. This limits their treatment options and the end result is a prescribed “band-aid" that is used to reduce symptoms instead of addressing the underlying cause of a problem. When root problems go on untreated, they almost always come back and cause worse problems over time. Dr. Scott's approach to mental health includes the use of modern testing (genetic, hormonal, and metabolic analysis) to look inside the body to provide a comprehensive picture of an individual's state, allowing him to get to the root cause of the issue. Having tested and treated over 600 people using this approach, Dr. Scott is one of the few doctors in the country with advanced knowledge of genetic testing. He has served as a consultant to many colleagues who want to follow his path. As part of his treatment of medical illnesses, Dr. Scott uses nootropics and adaptogens (medical supplements), nutrition, some Eastern techniques, and at times the most modern, but more traditional medications that are now available. His work on reducing the usage of controlled narcotics and overmedication when treating mental health conditions remains at the core of his treatment approach. Some of Dr. Scott’s areas of expertise include ADHD, Stress and Anxiety Disorders, Depression, Physical and Emotional Trauma, along with Developmental Disabilities. He has served as the advisor to Autism Friendly Space for over 10 years and was appointed assistant professor of psychiatry at Touro Medical College and at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where he has trained medical students, nurse practitioners, and medical residents on integrative and functional medicine approaches to mental health. While teaching is important to our doctor, his passion remains the time he spends working with his clients. Beyond all else, Dr. Scott is devoted to discovering the underlying causes affecting those he works with using the most progressive scientific approaches to help individuals achieve an optimal state of being throughout the course of their treatment.
