Brief Intro

Dr. Scott Mayhew completed his Interventional Pain Management fellowship at Beth Israel Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, an ACGME accredited Anesthesia based program in Manhattan. He is Board Certified in Pain Management and Emergency Medicine. He completed Residency training in Emergency Medicine at Michigan State University/GRMEP. Having taken care of thousands of patients with all types of pain during his 11 years as an Emergency Physician uniquely qaulified him for pain fellowship training, and gives him a broad and unique background in Pain Management. Dr. Mayhew is located at our Socastee Primary Care Center. He practices Interventional Pain Management exclusively, specializing in minimally invasive treatment modalities for sciatica, lower back pain, spinal stenosis, neck pain, joint pain, and spinal pain of multiple origins. He also treats painful peripheral neuropathies such as occipital neuralgia, lateral femoral cutaneous (skin) neuralgia, facial neuralgias, Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD), migraines and other intractable pain syndromes. Dr. Mayhew has been trained in the latest state-of-the-art therapeutic options, including but not limited to minimally invasive spinal surgery, epiderals, nerve blocks, joint injections, radiofrequency ablation, and spinal cord stimulation for pain management. Dr. Mayhew is a member of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, American Pain Society, International Association for the Study of Pain, as well as the American Board of Emergency Medicine.
