Sasi Penukonda, MD, is a pediatric endocrinologist. His passion is treating children with diabetes, obesity and hormone disorders affecting their growth and maturation. Dr. Penukonda recognizes that many factors can contribute to a child’s hormone cascade, and he uses a holistic approach to treat both the symptoms and psychosocial factors that may contribute to chronic metabolic illnesses.
Originally from India, Dr. Penukonda graduated from Sri Venkatesvara Medical College. He completed medical training for pediatrics in India, the United Kingdom and the United States with a residency at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in New Jersey. Dr. Penukonda then completed specialty training with a pediatric endocrinology fellowship at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. He is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology by the American Board of Pediatrics.
Dr. Penukonda is married to a primary care physician. They have two sons, one in college. Away from the clinic, Dr. Penukonda enjoys playing racquetball and tennis. He speaks English, Telugu and Hindi.
