Dr. Sara Kantrow, a native of Baton Rouge, LA, joined Nashville Skin and Cancer in July 2009. She specializes in medical dermatology, prevention, detection, and treatment of skin cancer and dermatopathology.
Dr. Kantrow received her undergraduate degree from Princeton University. She majored in molecular biology and graduated summa cum laude. She received her Doctor of Medicine from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Kantrow completed her internship at Saint Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center in Manhattan. She returned to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and completed a three-year residency in dermatology. Dr. Kantrow was selected a Fellow in dermatopathology by the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX, and received extensive training in melanocytic lesions, cutaneous malignancies, and inflammatory dermatoses. Prior to joining Nashville Skin and Cancer, Dr. Kantrow was a faculty member at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in the Division of Dermatology.
Dr. Kantrow is a board certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist. She has authored several articles in national peer-reviewed dermatology and dermatopathology journals and has presented at the national meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology as well as the American Society of Dermatopathology.
