My father died of heart disease when he was just 55 years old. After that, I always wanted to be a cardiologist, to keep this from happening to other people. To me, it is the most interesting field in medicine. I graduated from Aleppo University Medical school in 1982 and came to the U.S. in 1983 to continue my medical education. In 1991, I completed my cardiology fellowship at the University of Illinois in Chicago. As a board-certified physician in internal medicine and cardiovascular medicine I joined the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and later on moved back to a teaching hospital in Chicago. I then moved to Wisconsin in 1994 and practiced in a group setting until 1999 when I ventured on my own and continued in solo practice for 20 years, prior to joining the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health network. My busy practice has not kept me from advancing my medical education. I received my board certification in interventional cardiology in 2000, and received board certification in Nuclear Cardiology in 2009.I am excited about the new phase in my career as I join the Froedtert & MCW health network and feel confident that my patients will continue to receive the same quality of service they have come to expect.I believe that providing comprehensive cardiac care requires a long term doctor-patient relationship. My style of practice emphasizes early detection and appropriate intervention for my patients. My pledge to my patients is to work hard to improve their quality of life and to recommend treatments that reduce the likelihood of adverse outcomes.
