Dr. Derrington graduated medical school at UC Davis and completed her residency in pediatrics and fellowship in pediatric critical care at CHLA. She has always had an interest in palliative care, and her research interests in pediatric bioethics and decision-making made her a natural fit for the Comfort and Palliative Care Team (CPCT). As a palliative care physician, Dr. Derrington provides pain and symptom management for patients with life-threatening and life-limiting illnesses; she and the other members of the CPCT provide an additional layer of support for their families. Dr. Derrington's passion is to alleviate suffering for these patients and their families, and to encourage a moral, humane approach to care throughout the hospital.
