Roger Billica, M.D. is the president of Tri-Life Health, PC. A graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, he was Board Certified in Family Practice in 1983 and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice. Following his residency training in Arizona, he worked as the clinic director and emergency medicine physician at the Grand Canyon National Park for several years. After the Grand Canyon experience, Dr. Billica joined the Air Force to receive specialty training in preventive and aerospace medicine, and served as an F-15 / F-16 Flight Surgeon and the Chief of Aeromedical Services at Luke Air Force Base. In 1990 he joined the NASA space program and from 1991-2001 served as the NASA Chief of Medical Operations at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. Dr. Billica developed his current approach to health care and preventive / functional medicine while supervising the clinical space medicine programs for our nation's astronauts and the international space station. Dr. Billica has received national and international recognition for his pioneering efforts in the field of preventive and space medicine. He has published numerous scientific and clinical papers, is an acclaimed public speaker, a Clinical Assistant Professor in Preventive Medicine, and host of the popular radio program "God's Plan for Your Health." William Billica, MD or "Doctor Bill" as he is known by his patients, is a graduate of the University of North Carolina School of Medicine where he received the UpJohn Achievement Award for outstanding service in student affairs in 1985. After residency training in Arizona, he was Board Certified in Family Medicine in 1988. Dr. Bill then spent two years in private practice in North Carolina before completing a Faculty Fellowship at the Duke University Family Medicine program. Dr. Bill returned to Arizona in 1991 as an Assistant Director with the Good Samaritan Family Practice Residency program. During his 13 years on the Residency Faculy he served as Chairman of the Department of Family Medicine and received several teaching awards. Dr. Bill joined Tri-Life Health in January 2005 in order to take a full-time approach in health care using preventive, functional,and nutritional medicine. He is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Family Practice and a member of the American Academy of Family Practice.
