He served as chief of staff at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery from 1998 to 1999.
Dr. Franklin is a member of the American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology, the American College of Radiation Oncology, the Medical Association of the State of Alabama, the Montgomery County Medical Society, and the Alabama Society of Radiation Oncology (of which he is a past president). He was a member of the board of trustees for Jackson Hospital and Clinic from 2005 to 2008 and is a past board president for the Montgomery unit of the American Cancer Society.
A graduate of Samford University and the University of Alabama School of Medicine, Dr. Franklin performed his transitional internship at Birmingham's Lloyd Nolan Hospital and his radiation oncology residency at the University of Alabama Hospital.
Dr. Franklin and wife Michelle have three children, and are active at Vaughn Forest Baptist Church. He loves the outdoors in all seasons, whether hunting, fishing or snow skiing.
