Dr. Robert “Bob” McAlindon is a native of Michigan where he attended college and received his undergraduate degree. His graduate studies include biology at the University of Detroit and physiology at Georgetown University. He also attended medical school and completed an orthopaedic surgical residency at Georgetown University. Dr. McAlindon completed a Sports Medicine fellowship at The Hughston Clinic in Columbus Ga.Dr. McAlindon is certified by and is a member of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He specializes in general orthopaedics with an interest in sports medicine. Dr. McAlindon is the team physician for many of the local high schools’ sports programs, and he has cared for multiple Olympic athletes in the southeastern region.Dr. McAlindon is the medical director for East Alabama Sports Medicine Outreach program, which provides athletic trainers currently in a graduate program through Auburn University to assist in the care of local sports programs. He continues to do research in sports medicine and trauma.Dr. McAlindon’s leisure activities include bicycling and golf.
