Meet Dr. Robert Varner Dr. Varner is dedicated to providing quality orthodontics for his patients. "It is so rewarding to see current and previous patients around town." He says that even the ones who are all grown up reintroduce themselves with something like, "Hi Dr. Varner, you straightened my smile!" Born and educated in Oregon, Dr. Varner received his Bachelor of Science degree from Oregon State University and his D.M.D. (dental degree) from the University of Oregon Health Sciences Center. He served an internship at Balboa Naval Hospital in San Diego, California, and his residency in orthodontics at the University of Oregon Dental School. He has also completed advanced two-year postgraduate studies through the Cranio-Facial Pain Center in Washington, D.C., and the Foundation for Advanced Continuing Education in San Francisco, California. During the last 30 years since he started the Roseburg office, he has been very active in professional associations, serving as president of the Umpqua Dental Society, the Oregon State Society of Orthodontists, and the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of the American Association of Orthodontists. Dr. Varner and his wife, Jacquetta, enjoy traveling, golfing, and spending time with friends and family, especially their granddaughter Marin.
