Dr. Rick Shacket is a board certified specialist; certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Proctology, the American Board of Laser Surgery, and the American Osteopathic Board of Family Physicians. He is a Fellow of the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Shacket received a Bachelors Degree from Hillsdale College, in Hillsdale, Michigan. He received his Medical Degree from the Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, in Pomona, California. He received postdoctoral training in homeopathic medicine from the American Medical College of Homeopathy, in Phoenix, Arizona. He is dually licensed by the State of Arizona as a Doctor of Medicine (Homeopathic), and as an Osteopathic Physician and Surgeon. Dr. Shacket completed a medical internship at Hillside Hospital, in San Diego, California. Dr. Shacket completed a proctology residency program affiliated with Phoenix General Hospital in Arizona, where he received specialty training in colonoscopy, upper endoscopy, genital diseases, and anal rectal surgery.Rick Shacket, DO, MD (H) Proctologist Phoenix, AZ Dr. Shacket is on the Clinical Faculty of the Phoenix Baptist Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program, and is a Principal Investigator for proctology research studies. In 2007, he served as a Clinical Assistant Professor, Division of Clinical Education at Midwestern University Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine in Glendale, where he lectured medical students on the diagnosis and treatment of colon, rectal, and anal genital disorders. He was featured in the Phoenix Magazine 2008 Top Doctors issue. Dr. Shacket is a national lecturer on the subject of proctology and hemorrhoids. He is the author of a medical textbook on the treatment of hemorrhoids, and of numerous articles that have appeared in medical publications, web sites, and newspapers throughout the country. Dr. Shacket is from Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. He has four children, and lives in Phoenix, Arizona and La Jolla, California.
