Richard Hambley, MD has been specializing in skin cancer and Mohs Micrographic Surgery in Monterey since 1991.
Before coming to Monterey, Dr. Hambley completed an intensive surgical fellowship in Skin Cancer and Mohs Skin Cancer Surgery at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. He taught dermatology as part of the faculty at the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania, completed a 3-year dermatology residency at the University of Pittsburgh, and became a Board Certified Dermatologist. Prior to his dermatology training he completed a family practice residency at the University of California Los Angeles and completed medical school at the University of California San Francisco.
Dr. Hambley is a fifth generation California native who was born in San Francisco and grew up mostly in Stockton, California. He currently lives in Monterey with his wife and children.
Dr. Hambley is a fellow of the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Cutaneous Oncology. This organization accredits the Mohs fellowships and certifies the training of Mohs Surgeons. Dr. Hambley is also board certified by the American Board of Dermatology. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the California Medical Association and the Monterey County Medical Society.
