Dr. Richard Penney, MD, Interventional Radiologist practicing at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, created two Healthy Conversations videos. In the first, Dr. Penney discusses cryoablation, radiofrequency ablation and chemoablation for the treatment of kidney tumors and other cancers, greatly improving outcomes and quality of life for cancer patients. In his second video, Dr. Penny talks about chemoembolization of liver tumors and how this specialized treatment is used to treat liver cancer and help people qualify for or remain on the liver transplant list. Chemoembolization is not a cure for liver cancer, but is a great tool for controlling tumor size, and used in conjunction with additional therapies or procedures can reduce pain and substantially contribute to prolonged life.
