Having been raised on a dairy farm, I have always been exposed to a wide array of issues and problems. We were taught that no problem was too tough to conquer if you just looked at it correctly. Family medicine is the logical extension of that early training. We find ways to deal with almost any medical, social, or behavioral problem. On the farm, we learned a work ethics of caring, compassion, comprehensive, and cost-effective living. Those are the 4-C's that make family medicine unique among all the medical specialists.
