Dr. D'Ascoli graduated from St. Lawerence University in 1975 with a BS in Chemistry Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 1974. He graduated from Emory University Medical School in 1980 where he was President of his Senior Class and finished his General Surgery Residency in 1982 at Emory University. He Completed his Orthopedic Residency at University of Rochester in 1985 where he was Chief Resident and an Instructor of Orthopedic Surgery. He was Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery in 1987. Dr. D'Ascoli is an attending Orthopedic Surgeon at Ellis and Sunnyview Hospitals. He is a Team Orthopedist for many area high schools and Union college. He is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and The Arthroscopy Association of North America. His areas of special expertise include knee, shoulder and hip surgery including "small incision" total joint replacements. He was instrumental in the development of the "Joint Camp" in use at Ellis Hospital. Dr D'Ascoli is a Clinical Assistant Professor at Albany Medical School, and an Oral Examiner for the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. He also serves on the Board of Directors of MVP Health Plan.
