Dr. Kolachalam is the Section Chief of the Department of General Surgery at Providence Hospital, and Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at Wayne State Medical School. He has been a Board Certified surgeon since 1995, and while he does a broad range of general surgery and wound care his main interest is in minimally invasive abdominal surgery, Da Vinci Surgery, endocrine surgery (thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands) and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT). He is in private practice in general surgery and works in Providence Hospital, Beaumont Hospital, and St. Mary's Hospital. Also, he is part of the teaching faculty at these hospitals.
