Born and raised in Mysuru, India, Rajiv Naval Srinivas, MD, was encouraged by his family to serve others by becoming a doctor. He works hard every day to honor them by serving patients in his Clay County practice in rural Appalachia since 2003. Dr. Naval attended medical school at the prestigious Mysore Medical College (MMC). After graduation, he moved to New York City to complete a residency in internal medicine at St. Barnabas Hospital — and while there, witnessed the impact of the HIV epidemic. Feeling led to learn more, he completed a two-year fellowship in infectious diseases at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston as well as a fellowship in geriatric medicine and gerontology at Tulane Medical Center New Orleans. In addition to medicine, Dr. Naval has another passion in life: the great outdoors. A champion of environmental causes, you can frequently find him traveling, hiking or gardening.
