Dr. Rahul N. Julka completed his college education at Benedictine University in Lisle, IL, where he graduated with a Bachelor in Science degree in Health Sciences. He completed his medical school training and Internal Medicine residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, IL. He then completed a Transplant Hepatology fellowship at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE, followed by completion of his Gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, AR. Following this, Dr. Julka attained ABIM board certification in the fields of Internal Medicine, Gastroenterology, and Transplant Hepatology. He has worked in private practice in Illinois and Indiana since 2009. He has also served previously as an instructor for medical residents and students.
Dr. Julka’s primary interests in Gastroenterology include colon cancer screening and gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). His primary interests in liver disease include acute liver failure and hepatitis C. He is an active community lecturer on topics such as hepatitis C and colon cancer screening. Dr. Julka believes in providing excellent medical care with compassion, empathy, and an individualized approach for each patient. He is trained in esophagogastroduodenoscopy, esophageal dilation, colonoscopy, colon polyp removal, and percutaneous gastrostomy tube placement.
