At Wayne Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Associates, we offer a comprehensive team approach to your condition. We treat a vast array of musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions including sports injuries, traumatic inuries, work/no fault injuries, stroke/MS and post-operative rehabilitation. Depending on your diagnosis, our treatment strategy may include medications, injection therapy to ligaments, muscles, trigger points or joints combined with physical therapy/certified medical massage therapy/occupational therapy. Our therapists are trained and certified in the latest manual and therapeutic techniques to ensure optimum results. We use a combination of hands-on techniques along with specific physiotherapy "modalities" such as ultrasound, electric muscle stimulation, diathermy and exercise. In addition, depending on a patients particular condition, we offer state of the art equipment to be applied with therapy.
For our back pain patients diagnosed with a lumbar herniated disc or facet syndrome, we offer Spinal Decompression Therapy. Combined with physical therapy we customize a program of strengthening and flexibility exercises individually tailored for you. Our Biodex strengthening equipment ensures cutting edge computerized strengthening along with protocols that are individually tailored for you. We have achieved excellent results with our program: About 50% of people of those with herniated discs recover within 1 month, with more than 80% recovering after 3 months. Our tailored program including computerized home exercise program helps to maximize results and minimize recurrence.
