I was born and raised in Chicago. I attended Northwestern University for undergraduate studies and medical school and completed my general surgery residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin. I came out to Southern California to complete a fellowship in surgical oncology at City of Hope and decided to stay. I was in private practice in Orange County for over a decade before joining Kaiser Permanente. I am married and have a daughter.
