Dr. Peter Witherell is a graduate of the Thomas Jefferson University Medical School in Philadelphia. He completed a residency in Anesthesiology as well as specialized fellowship training in Pain Management at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center.
Dr. Witherell is Board Certified in Anesthesiology and Sub-Specialty Board Certified in Pain Management. Dr. Witherell served as the director of the Christiana Care Pain Center until forming Interventional Spine Pain Consultants with his colleague Dr. James Downing in 2003.
Dr. Witherell has been providing advanced interventional treatment of adult spine-related pain in Delaware for the past 15 years. He has been both a published author as well as a lecturer on various pain management topics. Dr. Witherell is an active member of both the International Spine Intervention Society and the American Society of Interventional Spine Physicians.
