Moved to the bay area with his family from central California where he practiced medicine for over 15 years. Initially board certified in 1994, he recertified in 2003. After finishing undergraduate and graduate school at the University of the Pacific, he received his medical degree in Mexico from the Antonomous University of Tamaulipas. He then finished his medical education at the University of California, Irvine, and completed internal medicine Residency with the University of California, Irvine in 1989.
