Dr. Kupcha, originally from the Delaware Valley, began his practice in Wilmington following a commission with the United States Army that took him to Hawaii, South West Asia and Germany. Upon completion of his active duty service in the Army, he served at Fort Belvoir, Virginia as Chief of the Division of Orthopaedics.
Dr. Kupcha is Board Certified in Orthopaedics. He treats general orthopaedic patients daily, but he is fellowship trained and specializes in Surgery of the Foot and Surgery of the Ankle.
He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania where he also participated in college football and baseball. Upon graduating with his medical degree from Georgetown University Medical School, he distinguished himself as being in the top ten percent of medical students in the country as an AOA honor society recipient. Dr. Kupcha completed both his orthopaedic residency and sub-specialty Foot and Ankle fellowship at the Rothman Institute/Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
Dr. Kupcha has been a member of numerous specialty organizations over the years, including the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, Limb Lengthening and Reconstruction Society and the Delaware Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons, where he served 2 years as President until March of 2010.
